An established civil and infrastructure services contractor delivering road maintenance across the Nelson region is seeking an experienced Roading Supervisor to take ownership of highway mowing and road maintenance operations.

This is a key frontline leadership position for someone who enjoys running crews, planning daily works and ensuring jobs are delivered safely and efficiently in live road environments.

About the Role

You will oversee highway mowing programmes and general road corridor maintenance activities, ensuring work is completed to contract standards while maintaining strong safety and environmental performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate mowing and maintenance crews across the network

• Plan daily schedules, site access and traffic management requirements

• Monitor quality, productivity and programme delivery

• Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental procedures

• Liaise with clients, contract managers and operational teams

• Manage plant utilisation, subcontractors and job reporting

What We’re Looking For

• Previous experience in a Roading Supervisor or Foreperson role

• Solid knowledge of highway mowing, vegetation control or road maintenance contracts

• Confidence working in live traffic and dynamic work environments

• Strong organisational skills and the ability to lead crews effectively

• Practical mindset with a solutions-focused approach

• Reliable, self-motivated and comfortable taking responsibility on site

• Relevant traffic management or plant operation licences beneficial
