ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

Rebel Recruitment is partnering with a leading Tier 1 civil contractor seeking an experienced Health & Safety Advisor to join the delivery team on a major transport infrastructure project in Tauranga.

This is a hands-on project role, working alongside Project Managers, Engineers, Supervisors and site teams to ensure health and safety is embedded into the way the project is planned and delivered — not simply managed through paperwork and compliance.

You’ll provide practical H&S support across complex civil construction activities, helping teams identify and manage critical risks, improve site behaviours and ensure work is planned and undertaken safely.

The role will include site engagement, risk assessments, investigations, audits, toolbox and pre-start support, contractor management, reporting and contributing to continuous improvement across the project.

WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

· Proven Health & Safety experience within civil construction or major infrastructure projects.

· Practical understanding of high-risk construction activities, ideally across transport, earthworks, structures, utilities or heavy civil works.

· Strong knowledge of New Zealand health and safety legislation, systems, risk management and incident investigation.

· Confident working directly with Project Managers, Engineers, Supervisors, subcontractors and frontline construction teams.

· A practical and engaging H&S professional who can influence behaviours, challenge when required and build a strong safety culture on site.
