Rebel Recruitment is partnering with a Tier 1 civil contractor growing their presence in Hawke’s Bay.

They’re looking for a Project Engineer with strong reinforced concrete structures experience to join a high-performing delivery team working on complex civil and structural projects.

This is a role for someone who can take ownership.

Someone who understands how to coordinate teams, manage subcontractors, and maintain strong commercial control while delivering technically challenging structural works.

The Hawke’s Bay team is expanding, and this position offers the opportunity to play a key role in building capability within a growing regional operation.

The Role

You will play a critical part in the successful delivery of reinforced concrete structural works within a major project environment.

Working closely with Project Managers, site teams, and subcontractors, you will help drive programme certainty, quality outcomes, and commercial performance across key work packages.

This is a hands-on engineering role within a collaborative and high-performing project team.

Your Responsibilities

Project Delivery

• Manage key structural construction packages

• Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and site teams

• Ensure programme milestones are achieved

• Maintain quality standards across complex RC works

• Support construction planning and sequencing

Commercial Management

• Maintain strong cost awareness and reporting

• Assist with procurement and subcontractor engagement

• Monitor productivity and programme performance

• Support forecasting and commercial control across delivery packages

Site Leadership

• Work closely with supervisors and engineers to drive delivery

• Promote strong safety culture across site operations

• Ensure project standards and compliance requirements are met

• Contribute to a culture of accountability and teamwork

What We’re Looking For

• 5+ years’ experience within civil construction

• Strong delivery experience across reinforced concrete structures

• Experience working within Tier 1 or Tier 2 contractor environments

• Tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering or Construction Management

• Strong coordination, communication, and organisational capability

• Commercial awareness and understanding of construction delivery
